In 2007, New Mexico legislators adopted a medical cannabis program for the state through the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act. The purpose of this act Act is to allow the beneficial use of medical cannabis in a regulated system for alleviating symptoms caused by debilitating medical conditions and their medical treatments.

In addition, the privacy of our patients is a top priority. All patient data is protected by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996), a United States legislation that provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information. Private information and medical records are only accessible by the patient and the Department of Health. Please refer to the NM DOH Health Information Privacy Policy for more information about your rights and/or visit the NM DOH Medical Cannabis Program website for more information.
